Project

The Bagmati Small Hydropower Project was first identified by Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) during Screening and Ranking study of Medium Hydropower Study Project (MHSP) at reconnaissance level.  The Project is located in the district boundary between Lalitpur and Makawanpur districts in Central Development Region of Nepal. The headworks site is located approximately 44 km from Kathmandu in IpaPanchakanya of Makawanpur districts about 100 m downstream from the confluence of Kulekhani Khola with Bagmati River at Dobhan and the other bank of the river at this site is located in Ghusel of Lalitpur district. The powerhouse site is located at Besitole village of Ipa Panchakanya on the right bank of Bagmati River. Geographically, project area covers the longitudes from 850 13‟ 43” E to 850 15‟ 20” E and latitudes from 270 30‟ 19” N to 270 32‟ 30”.
